Tribute to Dr. Kumar

Created by Abha 7 years ago
You were/are unbounded awareness Dr. Kumar. In fact, I was thinking whether should I call you ‘Dr. Kumar’ as this name has some boundaries, some purpose and physical existence defined by the world for some duty—a sense of commitment to someone and something. But you were unbounded. You were/are what you think. If you think you are bound you are bound. If you think you are free you are free.

I often used to think that you live in duality. And you were if I see you with the ‘eyes’ of relativity. But it was your inner journey that you had started already which was absolute--with both body and without body. The journey from “I” to “self” to self-awareness. Your quotes that you mentioned to me in the last days still echoes “The door that locks you in, is also the door that lets you out.The " I AM " is the door , stay at it until it opens. As a matter of fact, it is open, only you are not at it.
...

.I saw your body departing and mind liberating...happening simultaneously You became the sword for yourself that freed you. And I was witnessing your liberation… sitting with you in ICU. I was in dilemma whether should I cry for the death of Dr. Kumar or should I cherish the moment of your liberation from ‘Dr. Kumar’…

you are now and forever free. You are unconditioned, changeless, formless you are now consciousness… the universe exists within you and so I! Be in happiness and rest in peace my dear!

Few lines from Gita for Dr. Kumar who now exists in One as totality
You are not the body.
You do not have a body.
You neither do nor enjoy.
You are Awareness only--the timeless Witness.
You are free.
Go in happiness.

You have no caste or duties.
You are invisible, unattached, formless.
You are the Witness of all things.
Be happy.

Right and wrong, pleasure and pain,
exist in mind only.
They are now not your concern.
You neither do nor enjoy.
You are free.

Attachment and aversion
are attributes of the mind.
You are not the mind.
You are Consciousness itself--
changeless, undivided, free.
Go in happiness

You are That in which the universe appears
like waves appearing in the ocean.
You are Consciousness itself

The body is made of worldly stuff.
It comes, it lingers, it goes.
The Self neither comes nor goes,
yet remains.
Why mourn the body?

If the body lasts until the end of time
or perishes today—
is there gain or loss for you?
You who are Awareness?
Rest in peace my dear!
